The Apartment

With Scott back in school, I get to sit in our apartment all day and watch videos about how to use Adobe Dreamweaver, surf the web for jobs...and apply for them, and think of things to cook for dinner.  Sounds like a life of luxury?  Actually, it's quite boring.  On the upside, I have a very cute apartment to sit in.  It's all thanks to Scott the handyman, who took a couple days last week to hang pictures and connect a light to our ceiling fan while I organized all our stuff to fit in our cupboards.  Let's just say both of those jobs were quite the accomplishments :)

After about a week of eating on the couch or the floor (I cannot be trusted to eat with my plate on my lap), we are now the proud owners of a coffee table.  Thank you IKEA for your glorious deals (who cares if it's made out of cardboard...it looks like real wood to me)!  This is our first meal on a table.

We also got a real live plant at IKEA, which I have affectionately named Herbert II.  Don't you love the college on the left?  Scott came up with that.  It's our wedding picture shrine.

You are about to view a true handyman feat for Scott.  I don't think he even read the directions.  Yep, he's that good.  It even still works!

It didn't have an overhead light, so Scott took it apart and attached it so you can turn both the fan and the light on with the switch.  It's much nicer than a bunch of lamps!

Now comes the bedroom.  My mom and I made the pillows to match the bed.  I try to be a good homemaker sometimes.

This is Scott's "den."  Actually it's just a corner of the bedroom, but we like to pretend.

Well, there it is--isn't it cute?!  We love it :)
