Help

This appeared on Scott's Facebook wall while he was at school yesterday.  I'm glad to know dental school is going well for him.

Sea World...Again

It's the beauty of a season pass.  Labor Day's visit to Sea World was a little chilly.  It may have even dived into the 60s.  I know, it was frightful.  Fortunately, we survived without buying the hot chocolate they were selling at the Shamu show.

Even though it was our third time, there were still some noteworthy events.

1- At the dolphin cove, the dolphins actually came close enough for us to touch them!
2- My name got up on the jumbotron at the Shamu show.
3- We got to see the new turtle reef that just opened.  It has the sweetest instructional technology!  My new dream job is to work as an instructional designer for Sea World.

I just love Sea World :)

Princesses...and Football

Scott and I watched our friends' two-year-old daughter while they went out on a date night last weekend. After we had started a princess movie, twirled in her poofy skirt, and talked about her pretty red nails, she ran into the room where Scott was preparing his Sunday School lesson.  When I walked in I saw this:

Yep, they're watching football.  My future daughters are doomed.

Rice, Me, and Some Wheat

A few weeks ago, I got some pictures taken for my harp website.  Brittany Cascio did an amazing job--she's so creative!  I'm still working on implementing the pictures into my website (insert mean words about internet explorer not accepting my java script), but I have some fun ideas.

P.S. I named my harp Rice because the column reminds me of those little rice carvings I've seen people wear around their necks.

A Job

Yep, I got one!  After lots of searching, filling out applications, and talking to people, I got a job.  I feel so blessed to have found something so quickly and that will be good for my qualifications.  I will be developing and administering training about electronic health record software to doctors at a nearby medical university.  Instructional Technology?  Check.  Communications?  Check.  I start as soon as all the paperwork goes through.  Hurray!

Saturday

Today I am longing for the time when Saturday was different than the other days of the week.  You know, when it's a break from what life is like Monday through Friday.  Today's pretty much the same as the day before and the day before and the day before...

Anyway, all complaining aside, we did do a pretty sweet hike last Saturday.  We slid down this waterfall!  So fun, but so scary!

FHE Destruction

A few weeks ago, our electric pump for our air mattress broke after only three uses. Luckily, I was able to find the receipt, so Scott called and a nice lady assured us we could get a new pump.  She sent us an email with directions on how to prove we really had this broken pump and its receipt.

"Send us a picture of the receipt and the pump after you destroy it."

What?!  After we destroy it?  I made Scott read the email to me like three more times and looked at it for myself before I actually believed it wasn't a trick.  It seems warranty people are always out to not give you the warranty they guaranteed you, so I was sure they would tell us to destroy it, then say we couldn't prove something was wrong with it because it was destroyed.  Sneaky.

But...I was finally convinced.  Since it was Monday night, we had a little Family Home Evening lesson, then went out to our porch for our "activity."

I went first.  It was a little harder than I thought it would be, so Scott had to finish it off.

This is the picture we sent them.  I guess they figure if you're willing to destroy your pump to get a new one, there must be something wrong with it.

Too bad FHE isn't always this eventful!
